Setup, Break-in, Maintenance

We strongly recommend a qualified gunsmith perform all firearm modifications. The information below is intended for DIY-comfortable owners with appropriate tools and experience.
PREPARATION

Setting up your kit

We recommend all modifications to your firearm be done by a gunsmith. If you are DIY-comfortable, you will need: thin files or Dremel for careful shelf trimming, micrometer or calipers for trimming bolt weights, and standard armorer’s tools.

REQUIREMENTS

Bolt carrier group

A full-auto profile BCG (5.56) or full-auto bolt (9mm) is required.

The trip surface opening should be essentially square/flat when looking straight down at the bolt, not curved. The trip surface should have a smooth 90° angle all the way down into the bolt’s hammer channel.

Inward curved surfaces at the corners of the hammer channel opening leading to the trip surface can snap the lever off. Inspect carefully before installation.

REQUIREMENTS

Lower receiver

A low shelf or no-shelf receiver is required. High-shelf receivers will require trimming with a thin file or Dremel before the kit can drop in.

If you are unsure which shelf type you have, check the shelf height inside the trigger pocket. High-shelf receivers have a visible step roughly 0.310” above the trigger pin hole; low-shelf receivers are flat or only marginally raised.

OPERATION

Live fire and break-in

First range trip: 50 rounds slow fire on SEMI to verify normal trigger reset and bolt cycling. Inspect components for unexpected wear after this.

Once verified, switch to ACTIVE RESET mode. Active reset is a mechanical assist — you still control trigger pull cadence. Maintain proper trigger discipline.

Recommended break-in: 200 rounds total before extended use. Re-inspect for wear at 200, 500, and 1,000 round intervals.

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning and care

Clean the FCG and selector mechanism every 500 rounds or per your normal maintenance schedule. Use standard AR cleaning solvent.

Re-lube wear surfaces with light gun grease. Avoid heavy oil pooling in the trigger pocket.

Inspect the lever and trip surface every 1,000 rounds. Replace components showing visible wear before failure.
